Family-friendly beaches

Haderslev has many lovely sandy beaches. There are great opportunities locally to enjoy a day at the beach.

The beaches at Flovt, Halk, Hejsager, Kelstrup and Diernæs are all safe blue flag beaches. If you love to hunt for fossils, pop over to Råde Beach where there are fossilised sea urchins and belemnites. Another popular place to bathe is Vedsted Sø Lake, which has excellent bathing amenities. If you bring your dog with you to the beach, keep him on a leash at all times (applies from April to September). NB: Dogs are not allowed on blue flag beaches. From 1 October until 31 March, you may let your dog run free on the beach.
